Why translate the subtitle file instead of the video?

A subtitle file already contains the dialogue and exact timing. Translating that text is faster, cheaper and more private than uploading a video again. FrameMath never needs the picture or audio for this workflow.

TXT and DOCX auto-matching

If a translator returns dialogue in a document, import it here and FrameMath maps each non-empty paragraph or line back to the original cue order. What the free quality checks look for

Local checks flag objective delivery issues such as empty captions, overlapping cues, excessive characters per second, long lines and untranslated cues. Semantic AI review and other paid workflow features are planned for a later release.

How do I translate an SRT subtitle file?

Load the original SRT file, then paste or import the translated dialogue as TXT or DOCX. FrameMath matches each non-empty translated line or paragraph to the original subtitle cue and keeps every timecode. Google-powered automatic translation is temporarily paused.

Can I make English and Chinese bilingual subtitles?

Yes. Load the English SRT or VTT, match or paste the Chinese translation, then choose Source + translation or Translation + source when exporting. The downloaded SRT or VTT keeps both languages in each cue.

Does FrameMath upload my video or subtitle file?

No video or audio is uploaded. SRT, VTT, TXT and DOCX file reading, matching, editing, quality checks and export run locally in your browser. Online translation is currently paused.

What subtitle formats can I use?

This translation workspace accepts SRT and WebVTT source subtitles and exports SRT, VTT or plain TXT. For ASS, SSA, SBV and LRC files, use the separate FrameMath subtitle format converter first.
